Buggirl2013 asked: I want to name my baby girl Reaslie and my husband thinks it’s a good idea. But does it sound odd or weird? It would be pronounced Reez-lee.

Reaslie sounds cute, definitely, but I think more so in a nickname-y or baby way. For a full name, I personally would find it odd/weird. I’d take in to consideration that it does sound and look awfully a lot like “greasy”, “greasily”, and “grizzly” and for that matter, wouldn’t use it as a full name. Kids can be awfully mean. Plus, I don’t think the name Reaslie grows up well. My suggestion is to use an ordinary (or not, but at least decent…no “Karibelinnea’s”, “Table’s”, “Jaxin’SazFone’s” or “Europe’s” lol) and use Reaslie as a nickname.
May I suggest:
Teresa “Reesa/Reese/Reaslie”
Rhianna “Rhia/Rhi/Reaslie”
Sharice/Shareese (French for “Cherry”)
Breesha (Gaelic for “Exalted One”)
Carese (French “Embrace”)
Alarice (Germanic “Noble Power”)
Beatrice (Latin “Voyager through Life)
Caprice (French “Whim; Tantrum”)
Clarice (Latin “Clear; Bright; Famous)
Marice (Latin “Of the sea”)
Patrice (Latin “A Patrician”)
