I like it because it helps you if you are looking for certain baby names. And you can see how excited people are when they are looking for the perfect name for their little one. Its nice to help out and give your opinion:) Cheypey

I’ve asked myself this before! I have no idea why i’m so obsessed with them. I just find it really fun and entertaining to pick out baby names. Oh, and discovering new ones that I love is the coolest thing ever

I just really like names in general. I love to meet people with interesting names from different backgrounds and cultures. I love to hear the stories behind their names. I love to discuss names with almost anyone. I’m always asking people questions about their names and the names they like. All I know is that I really love names. And I love talking about them. a e т e r n a ◇

At first it was just because I was bored, and also trying to be helpful. But then I started getting curious about names, where they come from, what they mean, how they sound to different people. I realized that, like many other things in life, I have more opinions on the subject than I realized. I never thought of names as having a particular “style” but by looking at more and more of others’ preferences, I started recognizing my own “taste” and developed a particular interest towards certain names. I’ve always loved languages and reading, writing and talking are some of my favorite things to do lol, so I guess names fall under that category?
Now the reason I like it is because I like to share what I like, to learn what others like and to offer as much help as I can. (: g u m m y

It interests me for a few reasons.
I love learning the names in somebodys family and the history.
I like to know what the person behind the name is like.
It just interesnt me.

Your name is your identity, it sets the mood for your entire life, and just by changing one letter in a name it is possible to totally alter an identity. The endless possibilites are fascinating. Esmeralda

I’m interested in the etymology of names, the meanings and history of them. I love names that have a story to them. Names with a history. Clover

I think it is interesting to see different cultures and what they do with names and you can discover beautiful meanings. Also for the young users- they have an idea what to name their kids when their time comes- But mainly I love to help people.
EDIT: But mainly the same reason as “ԼƖƔƖ ԼƲ ღ кιѕѕє∂ ву α яσѕє ” it’s just interesting and fun to help people out with a decison that can influence their childs life e.t.c- and it is also fun to see what they end up going with- especially when they choose the name you suggested- i suggested a few names that people have gone with some of them was Sophie Adele and Brayden Jackson- I choose the middle names.

Well, I just love names in general. I like to try to come up with great combos and sibling sets.
I also like the social aspect of it. I like knowing what the general consensus is about certain names, and I like knowing why people like or dislike names, what associations people have with names… ♥Laoise♥

Good question!
I really don’t know why I love names as much as I do, but they interest me so much. Y!A has helped me pick out names for my children actually, and I think it’s pretty cool if I can help others. I’m also trying to work on not being so opinionated in my answers lol. Not everyone has the same opinion or taste in names that I do. Cupcake Muffin

To be honest, I’ve always had an interest in names.I was one of those girls who was 10 & planning their family! Also, I have always made stories, so I constantly needed names.Even when I don’t write the stories, I generally always have a story in my head & need names lol. Also, names are apart of my core interests or are interlinked with them.History,culture, literature,words,children & family are all parts of names or names are crucial parts in them.So, my interests are interlinked
I first joined YA for school purposes, as I often answers that I needed on here & couldn’t comment as I wasn’t a member. I then ambled my way through the different sections, when I settled on baby names, as it is was one of the few things a person can do that was ‘pure’ if that makes sense.It’s innocent & fun.You can’t cause harm & you learn a lot. Also, I enjoy learning about names & the cultures.Overall, I like helping people & trying to help them find their perfect fit נυℓιєт ♥ яσмєσ is ℓαяк αηgєℓ ♥
